From the very beginning of Campaign 4, recently appointed game master Brennan Lee Mulligan has kept fans guessing with rich lore, a diverse cast of personalities, and a thrilling plot including angels, demons, and dark forces growing in power within the urban setting.
Warning: Revealing details for Episode 3 of the new season are included.
The Warrior Group Introduced
The latest chapter ended with a major cliffhanger and revealed the premier party of characters who will split off from the main group to begin their own adventure, separate from the remaining groups.
This warrior group consists of Teor Pridesire (brought to life by Travis), Thimble (the talented performer), the strong-willed figure (Whitney), the cleric (the player), and Kattigan Vale (Robbie Daymond).
Why Split the Party?
Given a large ensemble, it was evident from the beginning that having everyone at the same party would be unworkable.
Hence, the opening chapters of this story serve as an Introduction, connecting the personal journeys before branching into three smaller tables: Warriors, Strategists, and Explorers.
What Defines the Combat Party
As described by the DM, the warrior group is for adventurers who are drawn to a traditionally charged combat and conflict-driven gameplay experience where non-violent answers are few and far between.
At first glance, figures such as the hesitant healer Wicander might look out of place, but the actions of the latest installment demonstrate why these particular heroes are ideally matched for the warrior group.
Reasons to Leave
For one thing, the team has a clear idea where to proceed after a violent first encounter with the antagonists.
A former ally of the deceased character—whose death started the campaign’s events—manipulated the enemy for his own means, invading the hidden lair, attacking the rogue, and stealing all the magical artifacts to auction.
The antagonist then paid off his liabilities and fled to a secure base in the northern region, above the urban center, with Cyd pursuing him.
Character Drivers
Moreover, each member has a individual motive to exit Dol-Makjar:
- The rogue, as the companion and trusted friend, wants vengeance.
- The knowledgeable figure has experience in Timmony and cautions that it is a nasty place.
- The warrior and The healer, having resisted his house’s orders to kill Teor and instead rescued him, have no other options.
- Yet, their status as prominent individuals in House Halovar could enable the party enter areas they typically wouldn’t be able to.
- Furthermore, Teor pledged a eternal obligation to The savior for his deliverance and will now accompany him everywhere.
Pursued by Authorities
In addition, all of them are hunted by the powers that rule the city for a multiple motives, making lingering locally no longer safe:
- The agile adventurer and The character are recognized lawbreakers.
- The warrior and Wicander defied the powerful family and the army of fiends they are aligned with.
- The fighter is wanted dead by the clan.
This results in them little choice but to travel to Timmony in quest for the antagonist.
What’s Next?
Based on the recent installment’s follow-up content, we find out that the Soldiers table will not appear next week, leaving the rest of the players to form the Explorers and Planners parties.
Viewers can look forward to learning which players will be in which group in Campaign 4’s final introductory chapter, available to watch on the upcoming Thursday.
